To the illiterate who want to complain about the wall of text – Your input is neither required nor is it being solicited…
A few things I find confusing, include the burning of the Alexandrian Library — the Roman stoic philosopher Seneca (c. 4 BCE – CE 65) refers to 40,000 books having been burnt at Alexandria. During Marcus Antonius’ rule of the eastern part of the Empire (40-30 BCE
In total there at least a dozen accounts of Roman or Arabic groups claiming to have burned the Library beginning near 40 BCE with Roman conquest and ending in the middle of the 7th century with Muslim conquest of Egypt – While all these groups no doubt burned books, what I am focusing on is the earliest conquest burnings.
An example of strange information from those early periods include the Piri Reis map – In any case the map contains an “Oopart” something that does not fit the scientific model – specifically it has the Continent of Antarctica with correct terrain at a time before it was covered with ice.
Next is the conquistadors clearly under Roman religious rule by that time; committing the destruction of thousands of Indian texts documenting the history, science, mathematics, medicine and astronomy of the pre – Columbian Americans and halting certain industries – specifically that of Rubber. Mayan tribes precisely manufactured tools, balls and sandals made of polymerized rubber on a very large scale centuries before Firestone.
Certain Islamic groups today say they intend to destroy all pre – Islamic monuments in Egypt as well as other parts of the near east, and have proved this desire time an again. Most notably by the defacing of the pyramids of Giza by removing their text covered casing stones in the 13th century, working away all traces of the text and building mosques with the stones, And recently blowing up 2000 year old statues of Buddha in Afghanistan.
Information that is not destroyed is ignored, hidden or deliberately misinterpreted. A few examples include the Nazca lines in Peru. It is a fact that many of these were obviously created by indigenous tribes in that area, monkeys, humming birds, something that has been called an astronaut and a lot of strange lines, What is not reveled is older places where geo-glyphs and runways have been made with precision, where it is obvious that the level of execution and intent was very utilitarian and in no way fits in with the shamanistic mumbo jumbo of animals and lines made by removing pebbles from the surface of the desert sands. In some cases entire granite mountain tops have been planed away to build these runways and their corresponding markers. If these were not so remote in location there would be no doubt an attempt to cover them up.
Lastly the documented use of petroleum as far back as the 2nd millenium BCE, Babylonian and Roman elite had walkways, and walls built of petroleum asphalt, had a variety or products like Vaseline, and mineral oils used for everything from skin care to laxatives.
They had surgical Instruments that very much resemble the tools used In modern times.
We are falsely led to believe that the people of antiquity were childlike and idiotic, barley having emerged from the caves, when in fact in fact in many ways they may have been more like we are today than will ever be acknowledged.
Without regard to religion I believe world history belongs to all people, not just the violent zealots with their bombs, blood thirst, and a hatred of history and rational knowledge.
My question is this;
What are some things you see being covered up or destroyed in an effort to change how history appears – and why do you think these actions are taken by vairous groups?
Bonus question!
Do you think in pre-historical times there may have been a civilization as advanced as we are today?
I realize there are many very bright people > some who practice a religious faith, and others that do not, regardless of your perspective, I am interested in your answers to these questions
Thanks in advance.
