Antique Alaskan Baskets

These are Tlingit Spruce root baskets from the early 20th. century. Few people make these baskets now as they are so labor intensive. TW

Russina Blues & Shrimp

I have a Tlingit friend in the Yukon that wanted some “Russian Blue” Faceted beads so I thought I would pose with them before I sold them. Russian Blue beads were a medium of exchange in the fur trade and the traders got as much as 20 pelts per bead for them! We call them […]

Northwest Coast Style Canoe Model

These are images of a Wayne Price Canoe Model that I recently received. It is for sale for $1,200. Carved from Red cedar. Boat models were often made to help figure the proportions when making a full scale boat. Wayne is one of the few contemporary artists that has made many of both.

Teslin Cultural Celebration

We are excited to be invited to attend the Teslin Tlingit/Haida Celebration. I believe it is July 18 through 21. If at all possible I […]

The Passing Of Dr. Soboleff

Creationists, can you explain China?

There were some artifacts dated from China from around 16,000 BC to 7,000 BC! If there were humans living in the world thousands of years before “Adam and Eve”, how can you explain this? Maybe god forgot about China. Or what about the Native Indians in the Americas. They were living before the “creation” as […]

Any comments about these thoughts?

During the dark ages, the church was the only government and no one challenged the authority of the Pope He signed two deadly “Cereta Bull.” In one he ordered to kill all the cats in Europe because they were, to his uneducated mind, the product of evil. Doing so, the rat population exploded and millions […]

Are there any Native American Indians left?

I was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1976 and growing up there, Native American Indian life was at the forefront of our daily conscious. I recall we had yearly River Festivals and parades that celebrated Indian heritage. The 44ft tall Indian statue, “The Keeper of The Plains” in our downtown was a daily reminder that […]
